-WHAT WE BELIEVE-
THE BIBLE
The Holy Bible is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, it is totally true and trustworthy, without any mixture of error. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.
GOD
He is the creator and the Ruler of the universe. God revealed Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and all three are one God. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience.
THE FATHER
He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise. He reigns with providential care over His universe and the course of human history according to His purpose and plan. God is Father to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
THE SON
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered himself as a perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever-present Lord. He ascended to Heaven and will one day return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness, and judgement. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation and gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved. He empowers the believer to live with understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.
THE DEVIL
The devil is the god of this world and the declared enemy of God and man. He is a liar, deceiver and accuser of men. He is under the authority of God but has no power of his own.
HUMANITY
God created man in His image to reflect His character. In the beginning man was without sin and given freedom of choice. Sin is disobedience toward God and separates us from our potential good. Only the grace of God can bring man into His fellowship to fulfill the purpose of God.
SIN
“A sin is any thought or action that falls short of God’s will. God is perfect, and anything we do that falls short of His perfection is sin. God’s will is like the center of a target—and when we sin, we fall short of His will or miss the mark.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
This is why we need Christ, for only He can forgive us all our sins, and only He can help us live the way we should. “We can’t forgive ourselves, nor can we change our hearts and make ourselves better in God’s eyes.” – Billy Graham
SALVATION
Salvation is God’s free gift to all who will accept it. Salvation is not based on good works or self-improvement. It is only by trusting in Jesus Christ and receiving His forgiveness can anyone be redeemed from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment someone receives a Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
THE CHURCH
We believe the New Testament speaks of the church as the Body of Christ which includes the redeemed of all the ages, believers from every tribe, and tongue, and people of every nation.
We believe it is a congregation of baptized believers who covenant together in faith and fellowship, exercising their spiritual gifts, growing in obedience to His word and extending the gospel to the ends of the earth.
BAPTISM AND THE LORD’S SUPPER
We believe there are two ordinances of the local church; Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It depicts the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior.
The Lord’s Supper is a memorial ordinance for the body of Christ in remembrance of the death of our Lord on the cross. It is open for all obedient followers.
CHRISTIAN LIFE
We believe the only way possible to live the Christian life is by God’s power within us. We seek to develop a daily dependence on God’s Spirit to enable us to do what is right.
SECOND COMING
We believe God, in His own time and in His own way, will fulfill His prophecy and return personally to receive to Himself the dead in Christ and all believers who are alive at His coming, known as the Rapture.
ETERNITY
Man was created to exist forever. The gift of eternal life is offered to every individual. After Death, one will either enter eternity with God in Heaven or be eternally separated from God in Hell.
BIBLICAL SEXUALITY
We believe that God has commanded that sex should be between a man and a woman in the confines of the marriage bed. Anything outside of these boundaries, such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, incest and pornography are a violation of God ‘s law and the relationship that God originally intended between a man and a woman.
ABORTION
We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is fearfully and wonderfully made by God. Abortion is murder and is unjustified and unexcused at the hands of any man.
